WinMount supports WIM

About WIM
Windows Imaging Format (WIM). WIM, a file-based imaging format, enables a single image to be deployed to different types of computer hardware with different language requirements.WIM is one of the most significant improvements of microsoft windows vista.
Features of WIM
- WIM is hardware-agnostic, meaning that you need only one image to address many different hardware configurations.
- WIM lets you store multiple images within one actual file.
- WIM enables compression and single instancing.
- WIM allows you to service an image offline.
- WIM lets you install a disk image on partitions of any size.
- Windows Vista provides an API for the WIM image format called WIMGAPI that developers can use to work with WIM image files.
- WIM allows for non-destructive deployment.
XPress and LZX
WIM images can be compressed using XPress or LZX compression.
XPress is a good compromise for when you need some compression, but you don't want to dedicate too much time to the capture process.
LZX provides the optimal compression ratio-but, as you can guess, this method takes considerably longer.
What can you do with WIM files by using WinMount?
Any WIM document compressed using XPress or LZX compression can be mounted or extracted by WinMount.
